Marc David is presently Music Director of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Emeritus of l’Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil.

As guest conductor, he has worked with over 50 orchestras across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Switzerland and Asia.

Grants and awards include recognition from the Quebec National Assembly, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Quebec Conseil des arts et des lettres, the Ontario Arts Council, and the City of Longueuil. David holds a doctoral degree from l’Université de Montréal and also studied at the Pierre Monteux School, where he was Maestro Charles Bruck’s assistant.

Further professional activities have involved jury work many national and international competitions and festivals, as well as sitting on boards of directors and committees of such organisations as Orchestras Canada, the Canadian Music Centre and Jeunesses musicales du Canada.
